This past weekend saw the Six Major competition for Rainbow Six: Siege take place in Paris, and during the event we also got a reveal for the next content drop coming to the game, Operation Grim Sky, which is bringing two new operators and changing one map entirely.
Maverick, first of all, is an attacking operator that offers a good alternative to Hibana and Thermite, as his torch can burn smaller holes through reinforced walls rather than blowing a huge hole in it. In fact, in the video below we're told that it'll use most of the torch's fuel to create a hole you can even move through, so he's a bit more subtle when it comes to breaching. He can melt everything from Castle walls to deployable barricades too, not to mention enemies.
On the other hand, we also get a new Defender called Clash as part of this season, "the first shield-bearing defender in Siege". She carries an indestructible shield covering the entire front of her body and can tase enemies to slow them, having a rechargeable source of power to do so. As you might have guessed, her speciality is crowd control, and you can even use her as a roamer since she's so well protected.
It's not all about the operators though, as a big part of Grim Sky is also the reworking of Hereford Base. This map hasn't just been tweaked, but totally rehauled as part of this season, and the trailer below shows you how it looks now. Expect more maps to get this kind of treatment as the game progresses.
