One of this year's most divisive games is Detroit: Become Human, Quantic Dream's narrative adventure that examines themes around slavery, sentience, and domestic violence. It's a game that split opinion around release (spoiler: we liked it), but despite a mixed reaction from critics, it seems to have resonated with a lot of players and has, according to the game's creators, been played by more than 1.5 million people. The game's official Twitter also boasts 20 million hours spent playing the game, and two of those hours can be seen below in our Livestream Replay:
"It's a fascinating game with a strong setting, a decent story, and some stellar performances."
That means 2 million joined the rebellion the last 16 months.
Launching on PC has seemingly worked wonders.
It will set you back €349.98, however.
The Quantic Dream-developed narrative adventure's release on Steam has strengthened its sales.
Quantic Dream's three latest titles, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human will release on Steam in June.
The French company celebrates its 23rd year by finally being able to self-publish games and keep its philosophy intact across multiple platforms.
