No surprise as "money" was given as the reason.

John Smedley, former executive at Sony Online Entertainment (later Daybreak Games) and currently at Amazon Game Studios, took to Twitter to show his support for gamers who wish to see cross-platform multiplayer games. In a tweet, he revealed the reason given for Sony's stance in this matter during his time at SOE:

"btw when I was at Sony, the stated reason internally for this was money. They didn't like someone buying something on an Xbox and it being used on a Playstation. simple as that. dumb reason, but there it is."

Gamers with long memories may recall that Microsoft employed a similar stance when their online platform Xbox Live was dominant during the Xbox 360 generation.

What do you feel about this situation and is this something you care about (or are you happy to play with players on your chosen platform)?
