Pokémon Go adds friends and trades

Niantic Labs adds major new features.

The most requested feature in Pokémon Go for a very long time has been trades, and now we're getting them. Developer Niantic Labs announced in a blog post that a new friend system will allow not only for special friendship benefits, but also trades. You will be able to trade really rare Pokémon, such as Shiny variants but only with levelled up friends and it will cost quite a bit of Stardust (significantly less if the trade is with your best friend). Also of note is that if friends participate in raid battles together they may receive an attack bonus.

Pokémon Go is coming up on its second anniversary and these social features are clearly long overdue. Do you still play Pokémon Go and what do you think of these new friend and trade features?
