Long-running fighting game Dead or Alive announced a new iteration in the series last week and it seems Team Ninja might be taking a more mature approach to the sexualisation the game's female roster.
Dead or Alive 6's director Yohei Shimbori recently shared his thoughts on the game's reputation in an interview with Game Informer discussing some of the changes they might be making going forward.
"This is a work in progress, a prototype, so we might change in the future," Shimbori told Game Informer. "For this version, we still have Kasumi with her previous costumes, and there are some parts that are going to jiggle or move, but we want to make it a lot more natural. That is one goal, to make movement very natural. Also, each character has a very strong personality and we want to emphasize that."
"Of course we're going to tone down at this point, but for downloadable content, we have to see what gamers really want, what their response is. Not all the gamers want the same thing, but we want to ask their opinions, all of them, and get feedback on it."
Shimbori also went on to say maybe they 'did a little too much' when reflecting on the soft engine in DoA5, which allowed you to control the amount character's breasts and buttocks jiggled. It seems we might get some slight changes in the new DoA, but Shimbori was very clear that was based on fan feedback.
Dead or Alive 6 is set to release in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
