On June 29, the NES Classic Mini and SNES Classic Mini will once again be available for purchase at retailers, much to the joy of Nintendo fans and retro gamers who may not have gotten their hands on either console to date. It seems, however, that the great interest that has built around these two mini-consoles may have pushed the big "N" to develop a new miniaturised version of another successful platform, the Nintendo 64.
The possibility of a Nintendo 64 Classic Mini has already been hinted at, but now apparently a new clue has appeared that would make this rumour sound more concrete. According to Japanese Nintendo, "Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for a N64 trademark in Japan. Purposes include video game program, controller for game machine, joystick for video game machine, TV game machine and more."
This news may not mean anything, but it could be an indication that Nintendo is moving in this direction and plans to re-release its third console (which was home to some excellent games) in mini format. We hope to provide you with more detailed information in the near future.
