Season 2 of Punisher may follow the Suicide Run storyline

Shooting of the second season of The Punisher is officially underway, as commemorated and evidenced by these photos from the set, posted by Scott Schmeizer on his Facebook page:

A few recent additions to the cast, as noted by ScreenRant, like Amy Bendix (Giorgia Whigham), Sheriff Bonnen, Deputy Willis and Deputy Creamer suggests that new season will take place in New York and the Midwest, and follow the Suicide Run storyline, where Frank Castle again finds himself near death and presumed dead after having collapsed a skyscraper on top of a bunch of crime bosses. He "retires" to small town in the Midwest, and recovers under the watchful eye of Amy Bendix, and the local sheriff.

But comic book characters have been adapted and used it different ways before, so whether or not this actually becomes a Suicide Run remains to be seen.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what other characters might make an appearance in the show. Jon Bernthal has previously said he wants Daredevil and Jessica Jones to join him, as well as villains Kingpin and Baracuda.
