If you weren't aware, Rainbow Six: Siege has just started the first season of its third year of content, bringing with it a new limited-time event called Outbreak as well as two new operators as part of Operation Chimera, both of which seem to have gone down very well, as VG247 has reported that the game has hit a new peak for concurrent users.
The data for this news comes from Steam Spy, which reveals that the player count has hit 176,208, which is all the more impressive when you consider that February's peak was just over 125,000. It's also a testament to just how much the fortunes have been reversed for the game since launch, which in its first month hit a peak of 18,000 players.
This growth is something we talked about in our recent article on both the game and its competitive scene, so if you're interested in the state of Siege as it stands and where it has come from, be sure to check that out.
How far can the game grow from here?
