The record for most downvoted Reddit post stands at -670,000 points. This was achieved by a comment made by the EA Community Team on Reddit while trying to justify the cost of locked heroes in Star Wars Battlefront II. The first sentence of that reply was probably the worst way the could have possibly handled the controversy: "The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes".

These words become so popular that a modder called Dareedevokl decide to create a texture for loot boxes with the text "Pride and Accomplishment" to make players feel what EA wanted them to feel before purging the game of microtransactions. The Pride and Accomplishment mod also changes the cost of unlockables to make it harder to get them.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

How proud and accomplished does this make you feel?

Star Wars Battlefront II
Enjoy your pride and accomplishment crate.

"It never gets boring watching Yoda rip through enemy lines with his lightning-quick lightsaber (as long as he's on your side, of course)."
