There are three digital editions of Final Fantasy XV on the horizon, with the PC version of the game available on Steam, Origin, and the Windows Store. Those who buy via Microsoft will get a special in-game weapon and some consumables, and those who purchase via Origin will get some decals and a few yet-to-be-announced goodies. They'll have to be extremely tempting goodies, however, if they're going to better the pre-order incentive concocted by Square Enix and Valve.

That's right, those who buy the game on Steam before May 1 will get a special costume for Noctis that'll make him look the spit of none other than Gordon Freeman. There are a couple of bonus-giving t-shirts for his companions to wear, but the big draw is obviously the Half-Life tie-in, which you can see in action below. The Half-Life Pack will also crossover to the Comrades multiplayer expansion, so there's that too.

The Windows Edition (which, confusingly, is the name of the edition across all three PC stores) of the game also includes a number of additions, including an expanded map (Insomnia City Ruins) that holds new side content, a "fully-controllable Royal Vessel boat, expanding the world of Eos and allowing players to explore the area between Cape Caem and Altissia," and additional story hidden in the world for players to discover. There's also a first-person camera mode, and all of the DLC for the game released so far on console makes it over (including the Comrades expansion and episodes linked to Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis).

You can read a more detailed account of what's in the Windows Edition by following this link. And, as you can read below, Square Enix has also revealed the recommended specs for the upcoming PC release, which is due to hit the platform on March 6.

Final Fantasy XV

REVIEW. Written by Jonas Mäki

"It feels like the series should feel, but adapted for a modern audience, and we're so glad that Tabata pulled this massive project together in the way that he did."
