One of the most common concerns we hear about Sea of Thieves is that the game will become repetitive after a short while. Rare has started addressing these concerns recently, and now they're ready to detail some of the ways they will keep things fresh once the game has set sail.

The studio's latest video reveals that the game will keep changing quite regularly after launch. One of the examples of this is that the characters in the world might reference an ongoing live campaign when talking with you. Another way is that they might hide some special emergent quests in the world once in a while, adding that these will be first come, first served. Their example is that you might find a treasure map in a book. Taking this map means that the next person that reads the book won't get the map. This makes sense in real life, but how many games have you seen do something similar?

Speaking of books, we're also told that some of them will record the stories of both you and other players, which means that you might suddenly find a book that tells of something you have done one day. We can see it now: "And then Gamereactor drank eight pints, got shipwrecked, ate a banana and got eaten by a shark. The end". Or even more detailed. They don't really talk about how detailed these books will be, so it'll be interesting to see. Colour us intrigued. How about you?

"It may not be all smooth sailing, but Rare's Sea of Thieves manages to deliver a cooperative experience like nothing we've ever experienced before."
