CD Projekt Red has finally announced the launch of the patch that adds Xbox One X support to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In addition, the studio has announced that soon a similar patch, one that introduces HDR support, will be released for PlayStation 4 Pro.

Thanks to the new Xbox One X patch, players will see the introduction of a series of improvements and visual changes via two options: 4K Mode and Performance Mode. The first mode makes the game and all its additional content run in 4K resolution (or supersampling, in the case of a non-4K display/TV), with improved shadows, ambient occlusion, plus 30 fps and high-resolution textures and gameplay. If you decide to use the Performance mode, however, you can take advantage of dynamic resolution, where the game goes from a minimum resolution of 1080p to 4K, all at 60fps. Both modes also support HDR.

As for PlayStation4 Pro players, an additional update patch is expected soon, with support for HDR and a series of technical changes on the way, although CD Projekt has not yet announced when.

"If this little sojourn to Toussaint is to be our final adventure with the silver-haired monster slayer, then it's a fitting conclusion."
