There was little surprise in terms of Game of the Year Award at the seventh edition of Fun & Serious Game Festival as Nintendo took the Titanium prize to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as the game has been collecting accolades en masse lately. The game also took home the Best Adventure/RPG Game and the Best Game Design prize was awarded to Super Mario Odyssey. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle was named Best Family Game.

Other awards in different categories seemed to be in line with recent choices around the globe. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice took the Best Indie Game prize (Melina Juergens received the Titanium award a couple of days after being recognised at The Game Awards for her performance in the game), and Cuphead won Best Art Design. Microsoft accepting the award in lieu of Studio MDHR also collected the Best Sports/Driving Game with Forza Motorsport 7. Machine Games took the stage to collect the Best Action Game, awarded to Wolfenstein II.

Horizon: Zero Dawn and Rime stood out with multiple awards. Guerrilla Games' PS4 exclusive took two prizes home this time (Best Narrative Design, Best Spanish Performance), whereas Tequila Works's beautiful adventure got Best Spanish Game and Best Original Soundtrack. It is without a doubt the year of David García.

The full list of awards is available below, including best serious game and best university project, besides this year's Honor Awards. Titanium awards have been gaining weight in the European scene for some years now, as Fun & Serious festival already is an annual fixture in the lead-in to Christmas.

Gamereactor covered the event on-site to catch up with developers, speakers and prizewinners, and you'll learn much more in our upcoming GRTV interviews.
