Fortnite's Twitch viewership sees big increase

The gap between that and PUBG is a lot smaller.

Certain games find popularity on streaming platform Twitch for one reason or another, and two of the big names on the site are PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite. As reported by The Dot Esports, however, stats from Gamoloco have revealed that Fortnite has had a big boost in viewership numbers recently, while PUBG has remained relatively steady.

As you can see in the graphic below, PUBG has held a steady lead over Epic Games' title for weeks, staying at number two on Twitch while Fortnite hovered around ninth place, but in recent weeks this gap has closed, so much so that Fortnite is now number four.

Surely it's no secret that the large majority of people are watching Fortnite's Battle Royale mode rather than the other aspects of the game, so the battle royale formula clearly seems to be working when it comes to Twitch, whether that's with the more colourful building focus that Epic has gone for, or the might of PUBG.

Could Fortnite ever overtake PUBG though?
