Fans around the world had different opinions about what to expect from last night's Mega Man livestream, as some thought Capcom would reveal a new Mega Man game, while others said they would be very glad to just see the long rumoured Mega Man X collection. Well, it turns out we got both.

Capcom didn't just reveal Mega Man 11, but they also announced that the eight Mega Man X games will make their way to PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One next summer. The problem is that their wording seems to suggest that the games will be released separately and not in a collection like the original series has been with the Mega Man Legacy Collections. We reached out to them for a clarification about this and will update you if and when we hear back.

Speaking of the Mega Man Legacy Collections; Nintendo Switch owners can also look forward to getting more Mega Man before both Mega Man 11 and the Mega Man X games arrives on their hybrid console, as Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will come to the Switch in spring 2018. It'll be interesting to see if these versions will have amiibo support like the the first collection had on the 3DS, or if Switch owners won't be "compensated" for the wait.

Which series is the best; the original or the X?
