Goldeneye 007

Goldeneye speedrun record broken after 15 years

Emotionally fueled speedrunner shaves a second off the time on the Dam.

Goldeneye 007 is often regarded as the grandfather of first person shooters on consoles back in Nintendo 64 era. It has also been a popular speedrun game over the years. The record in completing the Dam stage with Agent difficulty has been 0:53, and it has stood since September 27, 2002.

During this past weekend something unthinkable happened. A speedrunner Karl Jobst managed to complete the stage live on Twitch in just 0:52. You can watch the record breaking run on Youtube.

So after 15 years of gaming, there is a new name at the top of the honour roll. Do you enjoy performing (or watching) speedruns? Leave your comments below.

Thanks, Polygon.
