We've been in Brazil this past weekend to cover the Rainbow Six Pro League Season 3 finals, and during the event we got to see the three Operators coming as part of Operation White Noise. We were joined by brand director Alex Remy as well, who ran us through the details of each character, and what they bring to the table, as well as what they change in the meta.

"White Noise is the latest and fourth season of this year. I'm extremely excited about it," Remy told us. "So this time we're getting in South Korea, two new Operators - Vigil and Dokkaebi - and I'm excited about it because I think we're going into slightly uncharted territories with those new Operators. They're Operators that are changing observation in-game with their device and abilities."

"Both Dokkaebi and Vigil are able to hack device, be tools of deception, be tools of changing how as a player you interact with observation in-game, whether it's through drones or cameras, so that phase that we all know and like a lot, is gonna be different with the introduction of those two new Operators and I can't wait to see how that's gonna roll out."

We then talked about specifics for each Operator. "Yeah I mean there's Dokkaebi, who's the attacker, right," he explained. "She's having a device that allows her to actually ping all those defenders and make their phone ring, so that has several usages, one of them being able to actually locate every defender that is present. Her second ability is, once she has killed one of the defenders, she has the possibility to hack the phone device, and when she does so, all of the attacking team has access to the camera feed of the defenders, so that's really making the whole 'us as defenders, we have a sort of advantage with the cameras' and that not being that clear of an advantage."

"Would you rather take out the cameras [so] that Dokkaebi's power is becoming less important, or would you keep them because you actually need them? That's exactly the sort of design that we feel is super interesting, because that makes you ask yourself questions, and there's no right or wrong answer. It's up to you depending on your playstyle, the team that you're having, the sort of communication you're having within yourself, and that's exactly the sort of synergies we want to create."

Then we got onto the defender, Vigil, who's a bit more futuristic than we're used to seeing. "He is a very, very interesting Operator," Remy said. "His basic skill is that he can cloak totally himself to attacking drones, so that means that he is somehow invisible to all of the attackers, and you know I'm sure how important scanning with the drone for the attackers actually [is]. There's a slight effect on the camera that lets you know that Vigil's actually there, but [...] it's gonna be up to you to be actually much more careful because you won't be able to have perfect information. You know that Vigil's here but you don't know exactly where he is, and for Vigil obviously you're such a tool of deception and getting intel for [your] team that he's absolutely, I hope, gonna change some of the team composition we're seeing."

Then last up is the second Polish Operator, joining Ela who was introduced in Operation Blood Orchid, and this new attacker is called Zofia. "Ah, the last one, our sweetheart Zofia, the sister of Ela that we introduced last season, so it's the second of the GROM, the Polish Operators, and she's an aggressive entry fragger one," Remy told us. "Her device is just like, maybe one of the strongest devices, that allows you to have two types of grenades - one is entry and the other is concussion - and we also wanted to make one of the strongest and most aggressive characters in the game. We'll see how that plays out in the coming weeks."

"One of her features, as well as her 'passive' ability, is if she gets down and not out, she can actually revive herself and keeps one health point, so she has that mechanic or that fantasy that she is so strong that she can still be active a little bit. It's only available once per round, so hopefully that's not something you can exploit too much, but we feel it's gonna be very interesting to see her around."

As a fun side note, Remy also told us that each of the sisters is less affected by the other's concussion device, and that they were called the Concussion Sisters during development.
