Independent developer Byte Conveyor Studios were offered a bit of unusual and unexpected advertisement. The Russian Defense Ministry used footage from their game AC-130 Gunship Simulator: Special Ops Squadron, to accuse the US of supporting the terror organisation ISIS in Syria. Here is a video of the game which has been available on mobile devices since 2015.

The deception attempt was quickly denounced on social networks, before a spokesman for the US-led coalition, Col Ryan Dillon, responded directly to his Russian counterparts, claiming that the Russian allegations were "about as accurate as their air campaign", according to The Washington Post.
