It's been two months since Microsoft said that Age of Empires: Definitive Edition would launch on October 19, and we know many of you marked the date with a heart on your calendars. Well, it's time to erase that marking.
Microsoft has decided to delay the prettier version of the beloved classic, as they want to make sure that it feels and looks like the way people remember the game, and "not as it *actually* was" before releasing it. An interesting decision this close to launch, especially as they've decided to delay till "early 2018".
The good news is that they'll instead be inviting thousands of more players into the ongoing closed beta as a kind of compensation for the delay, and you can sign up for that here.
