Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon is coming to the west later this year, and at TGS 2017 we caught up with producer Keisuke Kikuchi to ask about the new elements of the game, one of which greatly helps with combat variety.
"So compared to the previous title, the first area is that we've introduced a new system called the Lily System," he explained, "and what it is is that the game consists of various heroines, whether they be on the good side or the bad side, and when you get closer and become friendlier with these various heroines they become the main character's partner in battle. So you can select which character you want to accompany you in battle and that will bring about different battling combinations. So for example, if you select a character that uses guns for the battle, then obviously the battles will use a lot more gun approaches, whereas if you choose a character that might be very speedy, has very fast elements, then that will, that aspect will be influencing the battle."
He also told us how different monsters can accompany you into battle as well, which then turn into items you can use to your advantage. What do you think of this Lily System?
