We were joined by lead gameplay designer Andrew Willans from CCP Games at Gamescom and he talked to us about Warzone that's launching for Eve: Valkyrie across PC and PS4 today. The new update (free for existing users) will allow for normal play without VR as well as adding new content and revamping the ships (fewer with more personality), as well as adding more progression.

Apparently this is the first fully "cross-platform, cross-reality" product on the market as it's playable cross-platform using VR and not using VR. Speaking of the transition from VR to normal screens, Willans had this to say.

"We've had to look very specifically at some of the weapons which were uniquely VR", said Willans. "Like the head-track missiles where you look to lock and we had to look at the soft-snap on a 2D when you get a missile lock and how far that lock is maintained."

All Eve: Valkyrie users will be upgraded to the Warzone version free of charge, and moving forward all new users will be buying the Warzone version of the game.

REVIEW. Written by Oliver Thulin

"In the end it's a competent action-focused flight sim that unfortunately is held back by a couple of negatives."
