Destiny 2's clan feature just went live at the end of last week, and with that Bungie has implemented a strong social component to their grindy shooter. If you have some buddies you're playing along with (which we highly recommend), you should participate in a clan to unlock further rewards, and as long as you're two members, you can even establish an own clan and work towards specific goals. If you want to know more about the clan's advantages, head to the official website and get started.

Once you manage to enter a clan, every in-game activity (nightfall strikes, crucible, raid, or the Trials of the Nine - and eventually the Guided Games, once they will be implemented on September 26) drives towards your clan's progression and eventually raises its own levels. Similar to levelling up your character or a group's reputation, you will get certain rewards for doing this, and every once in a while Bungie will reset these bonuses to keep the system fresh and people engaged, not unlike Blizzard games. For season one the rewards are the following:

- level two provides you with additional Glimmer from uncoding engrams
- level three increases the rewards of public events
- level four will improve Cabal loot
- level five's perk might increase the amount of rep tokens you gain in Nightfall strikes, the Raid or the Trials of the Nine
- level six strengthens every other bonus

The interesting part is that every member of your clan will work alongside you to strengthen the clan's reputation and loot, rewards, and more will be shared among everyone. Clans will be shared and synchronised across platforms, too, and for more information be sure to check out Bungie's official site. Is this the icing on Destiny 2's cake?
