Neymar transfer: PES "thankfully hasn't been hit too hard"
The high-profile transfer affects one of PES' biggest partners.
One of the biggest football stories of the summer has been Neymar's lucrative transfer from Barcelona to PSG, and with Barcelona being a partner of Pro Evolution Soccer, we couldn't resist asking about the transfer and whether its caused any disruption when we talked to PES' Global Product and Brand Manager Adam Bhatti at Gamescom this year.
"Yeah, I mean, to be fair we've announced Luis Suárez as the cover for Europe, but for sure we had a lot of communication with Neymar, and he was a wonderful player to show intricate differences with," he told us. "You know, thankfully we do have PSG in the game, but you know Barca is Barca and we are huge partners with the club, and it was a huge loss as a football fan, to see him go, and I'm sure the club would never say that they're happy to see him go either, one of the best players in the world, but our campaign thankfully hasn't been hit too hard. We've already announced Luis, we've got Coutinho in Latin America and Brazil..."
It was at this point we mentioned that the Brazilian man could be coming to Barcelona as well, to which Bhatti said: "Yeah, but also I've got to be careful of what I say because Liverpool are probably watching this, and they're our partners as well. So I guess Konami will win either way, but I hope for Barcelona's sake they do replace [Neymar] with as much quality as possible. Obviously, there's very few players that can replace Neymar."
Will you miss having Neymar on your PES Barcelona side?
