Super Smash Bros. returns?

IGN recently posted an article where they pitted the three games in the Super Smash Bros. series against each other. But they also wrote the following sentences that hopeful fans interpret as pointing towards an announcement of a fourth game.

"Let's face it, the second a Smash Bros. game comes out we immediately start thinking about a sequel. It's even more difficult to not think of the franchise with the 3DS coming early next year and a possible Wii 2 on the horizon.

We have plenty to say about Smash Bros., and you'll definitely hear more about the franchise in the months to come."

It could very well be that Nintendo are planning to announce something new in the series soon. A Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 3DS? A distinct possibility. Naturally there would be one for the successor to Wii, but we still have no idea when Nintendo might announce that.
