Overwatch's game director Jeff Kaplan has spoken about some big changes coming to the game in a recent developer update, and one of these has to do with highlights and how they are captured, as fans can now capture their own highlights by binding a key for that function, with these highlights going to the same section as the auto-generated ones. These can now be saved to video files as part of the new changes as well.
Something he was also keen to talk about was loot boxes. "We are going to make significant improvements to the loot box experience," he explained. "One of the things that we're going to do is drastically reduce the rate of duplicates that you'll get out of any loot box. We think that this will be immediately evident and extremely significant for all of our players, and we think that it's going to feel fantastic."
"Now, one thing you might be thinking is 'if you reduce the amount of duplicates I get, what's going to happen in terms of me earning credits and me being able to buy the things I want?' Well, to compensate for this we're going to increase the amount of credits that you get out of loot boxes, so we'll make sure that your credit intake will be at least the same, if not more, when this is done."
Are these changes welcome to you?
