With the game launching inside of a month in Japan (and once again, for the sake of national productivity, it better be a public holiday), Square Enix and Nintendo have put together a new Direct broadcast entirely dedicated to the imminent arrival of Dragon Quest XI.
The official description of the show, as translated over on NeoGaf, explicitly says that it'll be focused on the 3DS version and its unique features (StreetPass and more), and that it'll be just 14-minutes long.
It's important to note that while fans are eager to know how the game is going to look on the already announced but yet-to-be-shown Nintendo Switch version of DQXI, it's highly unlikely that game will be present, especially given the 3DS launch is only just around the corner. That said, Nintendo just announced that both Metroid Prime 4 and a new core Pokémon are in development for the Switch, and these announcements came with no footage; with Nintendo ripping up the rule book, it goes to show that you never can tell.
Dragon Quest XI Direct will be aired the day after tomorrow (June 21) and the game will then launch on 3DS and PS4 on July 27. No date has been announced for the game's Western release as yet, and Square Enix will focus on the Switch version after this initial launch.
