Dungeon Defenders launched in 2011 and was highly successful on every platform from iOS and Android, to PC, to the Xbox Live Arcade. A free to play sequel has been in the works from Trendy Entertainment for some time now and has been available to play on Steam Early Access, but it's only just gotten a release date.

And it's good news; It launches in just under three weeks on June 20 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Xbox One version was previously unannounced and Trendy are working hard to bring it up to where it has content parity with the other versions. Taking the best elements of tower defence games and RPGs, it features "classic elements like loot, pets, a variety of Heroes to level up and more."

"We're very excited to finally be able to bring the Dungeon Defenders franchise back to the Xbox platform," said Marco Busse, Chief Executive Officer at Trendy Entertainment. "Dungeon Defenders II expands on the combination of shared action and tactics that made the original game so enjoyable, and that experience has only continued to evolve as we've grown it alongside our incredible community through early access."

Play solo or with up to three other friends online in cooperative game modes, along with local split screen co-op. It's free to play across all platforms, with in-game purchases like costumes and new heroes if you're that way inclined.
