Rainbow Six: Siege's Season 2 delayed for Operation Health

Ubisoft has announced big plans for Rainbow Six: Siege, as the upcoming Operation Health will be deployed to ensure that the game is as strong as possible moving forward.

What this means is that the season revolving around Hong Kong, season 2, is being pushed back to accommodate these plans, which "is all about fixing several issues and investing in better technology to make sure we keep growing strong in the upcoming years." With Hong Kong being pushed back, the whole Year 2 roadmap is being reevaluated, so Hong Kong will be coming in August as part of Season 3, and South Korea coming in November in Season 4. The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that this pushes Poland out of Season 4, but Ubisoft has said that the GROM operators will be released at the start of both Seasons 3 and 4.

Maps are also getting impacted by Operation Health, as there will only be three this year, including Coastline as part of Operation Velvet Shell, in order to "truly prioritise our game's health."

An example of Operation Health's plans is that One Step Matchmaking will be released on the Technical Test Servers (TTS), and then on PC, with consoles receiving it last. Ubisoft promises that frequent reports will be giving during the Operation to update the community, including bug fixes and new content, and encourages fans to participate in quality checks on the TTS.
