This summer fans of the PC fighting scene will have enough to keep them busy, as Tekken 7 releases on June 2, while Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite comes out in September. Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 is another to add to the list, with Arc System Works announcing the sequel's release date as June 1.

Rev 2 is a standalone release, but it's less of a sequel and more of a hefty update to Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. New characters Baiken and Answer will be added to the roster, while there will be a bunch of new balance tweaks and moves for every single fighter on the Guilty Gear roster. Story mode cutscenes for the new characters will be added as well, along with the new Online Lobby feature. This means players can walk around in 64-player rooms, setting up impromptu tournaments and challenging other players. Interestingly, you can also take a break from the fighting to do some peaceful fishing in the lobby.

If you already own Guilty Gear Xrd Rev, this will just be a separate upgrade DLC that players will need to buy. If you're a newcomer, though, there will be a special package you can buy that includes both Revelator and the Rev 2 upgrade together. There's no pricing announced yet, but the previous Revelator upgrade was around £20, so expect the same.

You can check out more about the game by visiting the Steam page. Is this a worthy competitor to Tekken 7?
