As reported by VG247, Blizzard's Overwatch will be free-to-play in China for the entire month of May, as announced on the game's Chinese website.

This free period will include all 14 maps and 24 heroes, allowing players to level up and unlock items during their time, with these progressing over if they then choose to purchase the game after. Competitive mode, however, is locked.

When Reddit user Dylanjosh asked about whether this offer was for China only, Blizzard's Bill Warnecke, lead software engineer, confirmed this was the case.

Why do you think this has been launched?
