PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' frying pans now block bullets

The first monthly update brought an unexpected change.

  • Text: Sam Bishop

Earlier this week we wrote about the first monthly update coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and as reported by VG247, many players have noticed that it alters the frying pan a bit, and by a bit, we mean that it can now block bullets.

Twitch streamer Dimes_10, for instance, recorded himself getting shot in the backside while a frying pan covered it, and all you can hear is a metallic sound as the bullet rebounds off of the pan. Another GIF by NeoGAF user Teccniqe shows the player swinging the pan around instead, which also seems to block bullets (although we wouldn't say that's foolproof).

As with anything on the internet, this led to jokes, including the great picture below from Ninjaassassinguy on Reddit. Is this a cool change to the frying pan, or should it be reversed?
