The classic fantasy RPG Planescape: Torment, from Fallout creators Black Isle and originally released in 1999, is getting an Enhanced Edition next month. The new version will support higher resolutions and a new interface, alongside tweaks and fixes, and is handled by Beamdog, who was also behind the Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

Beamdog teamed up with Planescape: Torment lead designer Chris Avellone "to curate gameplay updates, bug fixes, and enhancements to best capture his original vision for the game," as described on the game's website. This new version will support 4K resolution, with a UI to match, as well as a remastered soundtrack and "modern features such as tab highlighting, area zooming, combat log, quickloot, and more!"

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition will be released on April 11 on PC, Mac, Linux and mobile phones. Is Planescape: Torment one of the best RPGs ever made?
