Leif Oleson-Cormack joined us at PAX East to talk a bit about The Low Road, a classically adventure game that has players trying to steal secrets against the backdrop of the 1970s.
"The '70s was a time of huge corruption," Oleson-Cormack told us of the setting. "It happens right around Nixon, we don't reference Nixon, but just that era. We're all inspired by 1970s movies, like The Conversation, which was this huge influence, we all watched that as a team."
While the setting might recall The Conversation and other films of the time, we also found out about the kinds of games that inspired The Low Road, and a couple of classic studios were named.
"This game really harkens back to the LucasArts era of video games. Sierra. Those were the two ones we always talk about when we were making the game."
