Last year we learned that Bethesda had two major games in development, although it was later clarified that one of them wasn't The Elder Scrolls VI.

Now, in an interview with Glixel, Bethesda's Todd Howard has confirmed that the studio has three games currently in the works, prompting us to cross our fingers and hope that the third is actually the next entry in the Elder Scrolls series. Here's what he had to say:

"We've got a good number of projects on the go. We're bigger now and we do want to be putting out more stuff. We have two larger projects that are more classically the scale of what we do, but even bigger. We overlap the projects so we're working on them at the same time, but they're staggered. I can't talk a lot about them, but I can say that they're bigger than anything we've ever done. They're a bit different, but definitely in the wheelhouse that people are used to from us."

A bit different? We're not sure what that means exactly, but when Howard refers to their "wheelhouse" no doubt he means sci-fi and fantasy RPGs, the genre on which the studio has built its name.

These three unnamed titles don't include either the VR version of Fallout 4, nor the Nintendo Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. With two of the games said to be bigger than the studio's previous works, we can only hope that we're talking about another grand RPG adventure in the vein of Skyrim or Fallout 4. The third game is a mobile title.

Meanwhile, in a similar interview, Howard told IGN that there are at least seven projects in the works at Bethesda Game Studios. The mobile game, Fallout VR, and Skyrim on Switch makes up three of those games. What might the other four be?
