China might be celebrating 2017 as the year of the rooster, but in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft it is called Year of the Mammoth. As usual, as the first expansion of the year arrives, the standard format of the game will change. Some cards are no longer available in this mode.
Blizzard developers are opening the Hall of Fame set, a place for cards just allowed in Wild mode and those currently in the Reward set. Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers will all follow this path. There are more already selected, and you can read up on it in the official blog post.
Need more cards? Blizzard is also changing the release cycle and this year there will be three new deployments of 130 cards each. The first expansion pack will arrive soon, with the first Adventure. There is also a new Rogue Hero, Maiev Shadowsong:
"Maiev Shadowsong has emerged from the shadows, eager to become a part of your Hearthstone collection after 10,000 years of tolerating bad "You are not prepared" jokes from Illidan. Legion beware: Adding this vengeful Night Elf to your collection will be easier than teaching an old felhound new tricks. Just win 10 games of Hearthstone in Standard Ranked or Casual mode after the next expansion officially launches to acquire her."
To sum up everything planned for this Year of the Mammoth in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft there is a new trailer.
