The Nintendo Switch's tablet, as in the form the console is in when it's not docked, comes including a rechargeable battery that will (at some point) eventually die, just like any other battery. We all know the pain. It's now confirmed, however, via Nintendo's specification page, that the battery is replaceable... but only by Nintendo.

The company is offering a replacement service for batteries after the console launches, which will of course come with a cost, and for this you'll have to get in contact with Nintendo's customer support. Prices have not yet been announced, but as always, it will likely be possible to handle battery changes by yourself, although this will no doubt result in losing the warranty on the whole machine.

This may yet only be a pressing concern for those intending to spend a lot of time using the console in its mobile form. Is that something you're prioritising, or are you planning to keep it docked a lot of the time?
