Old Time Hockey announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Vancouver-based V7 Entertainment has announced Old Time Hockey, a game for those who miss the days of the Broadstreet Bullies and the early days of EA Sports' NHL franchise.

Combining the mechanics and perspective of early NHL titles with some of the aesthetics of Hit the Ice and feel of the classic Paul Newman movie Slapshot (do you remember the Hanson brothers?).

"Everything from NHL 94, Blades of Steel, to other sports titles like NBA Jam and Tecmo Bowl inspired us. We wanted to recreate that old familiar experience of playing these games on the couch with friends." says Director Karthik Venkateshan.

Set in the late 1970s in Bush Hockey League (a decidedly minor league) Old Time Hockey offers a story mode as well as a beer mode (allows for playing the game with one hand while holding your beer in the other). As you'd expect there is two-button arcade controls as well. Oh, and there most definitely will be fighting involved and no helmets.

Old Time Hockey is scheduled for released on PC (Steam), PS4, and Xbox One during the first quarter of next year.
