You can now get a companion diaper with Outlast 2

The Outlast 2 developers over at Red Barrel have kindly announced a Kickstarter for a companion diaper called Underscares to accomplish the game. No, seriously, this is not a joke.

After the horror that was Outlast, a game which is widely considered one of the scariest games ever made, the developers, Red Barrel, want to show fans that they have been listening to their feedback and have created something in response.

"Following the release of the first Outlast and feedback from fans, we wanted create something to let them know that we have been listening," said Philippe Morin, President of Red Barrels. "They have all been so vocal about their reactions, we responded in typical Red Barrels fashion: to the extreme".

So if there is any of you out there who felt the first game was a little bit too scary then do not worry Underscares will have you covered, literally. Red Barrels have launched this no nonsense 100% genuine campaign in collaboration with Sid Lee after being inspired by the Outlast community. Incorporating a custom design the gamer diaper combines practicality, comfort and style so gamers of a more fragile disposition do not have to worry about soiling their egos. Available in Basic and Limited Edition Deluxe options, Underscares are wearable, comfortable, high quality and most importantly, washable. It should be interesting to see the YouTube community embrace these new player safety devices.

Red Barrel wanted to assure fans the product is very real and that the Kickstarter is not to support Outlast 2 the game, as this is already funded due to the success of the original and its companion Whistleblower DLC. Securing your pair of Underscares plus a Steam copy of the game will set you back $55 Canadian dollars or about £33. You can also just get a downloadable pattern for the adult diapers for $10 Canadian dollars, or about £6, and make your own Underscares.

The Kickstarter campaign launched November 17 and will run until December 9, 2016 aiming to reach its funding goal of 40,000 Canadian dollars. For those of you who haven't been scared by Outlast yet, it's part of Xbox's Games with Gold for December, so try it out! Will you be needing an Underscare?
