Happy birthday Cities: Skylines! Finnish studio Colossal Order's city builder was launched one year ago on PC (also Mac and Linux) and has been a great success for both the small developer from Tampere and publisher Paradox Interactive.

According to their celebration video, Cities: Skylines has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. The game has also been popular in Steam Workshop with over 76,000 pieces of content created.

To celebrate the success of the game Colossal Order is releasing a free content update for the game on March 22: "Players should be formally informed that they can perform mild terraforming on their cities' formations, to reform former landforms into malformed formats. Canals and quays will also be available for construction, so that Paradox can officially say they have handed over the quays to the city."

Colossal Order is also throwing a party: "One lucky player will be invited to join the festivities, winning a trip to Finland, a tour of the Colossal Order office, attendance to the anniversary party, and more. Fans can enter at https://colossalorder.fi/ChirpyContest/ by submitting their best Chirper-related art, poetry, song, game mod, or anything else they are inspired to create."
