A unique and hidden mode has recently been discovered in the top-down prison building and management simulator, Prison Architect. It turns the entire game 3d, and gives you a closer look at what is going on in the prison and its inhabitants.

The lead designer for the game, Chris Delay, told PC Gamer that the feature has actually been hidden in the game since it officially came out of Early Access last October, and that they were surprised that the feature took this long to be found - they thought it would be found in a few days at most.

Apparently the 3D mode began as basically a massive engine hack that gave your prison a look from a new angle, and it was never of a good enough quality to be branded a feature. Instead, they put it into the game as a hidden gem in the 1.0 version.

For fans of the way the game looks now, Delay reassured them, saying that the team has no plans to replace the way the game looks with the 3d mode. They may make some improvements to the mode, though.

Prison Architect

REVIEW. Written by James Daniels

"Overall Prison Architect is a very good game, and it brings new ideas and a new setting to a tired genre."
