Strikers Edge is coming to PlayStation 4

Strikers Edge, the Portuguese video game developed by Fun Punch, will be coming to PlayStation 4. The game was originally developed for PC, but after winning a PlayStation competition, the game will now be released exclusively on Sony's console. Strikers Edge was chosen as the best Portuguese game in development (from among participating projects), and it will be supported by Sony.

Fun Punch will be getting €10,000, a PS4 development Kit, a promotional campaign via Sony's channels (worth €50,000 according to Sony), and a physical space in Lisbon to work on the game for ten months. This also means Strikers Edge will remain a PS4 exclusive for at least three years. After the contractual obligations have been satisfied, Strikers Edge can then be released in other platforms.

As for the game itself, Strikers Edge will be focusing on multiplayer, putting two or four players (two teams) into battle. The action takes place in a 2D arena divided by a river, and players can choose from several heroes with long range weapons.
