Kazutoki Kono talked to us at Jump Festa and told us more about the recently announced Ace Combat 7, and the studio's work bringing aerial combat to PlayStation VR.
On the subject of PlayStation VR Kono explained that "we think it's a very big challenge" although he did add that "we're very confident."
"In PlayStation VR the players will be able to sit at a real cockpit and look around the sky while they're flying freely around. And what's very unbelievable is that after the players look back at playing PlayStation VR they only have the memory of being inside that universe, of being able to fly as a pilot; they don't really remember the screen, the monitor. They just have the memory of going inside that true world," Kono explained via a translator.
Kono-san wasn't able to offer any indication as to when AC7 might take off, but he did say that the studio are working to make sure it's best game in the series, and asked that fans remain patient.
