There's always a lot of hype in the days before E3, but this year nobody has been tooting their own horn like Microsoft. Their press conference has high expectations and it's confirmed that we'll get to see a new game from Rare, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, something related to Gears of War (the original remastered most likely), Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6 - just to name a few.

But Microsoft has also announced that they will put a lot of effort into this year's Gamescom. So that they have something new to show over in Cologne in August, some previously announced games won't be shown at E3 next week.

In an open letter from Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer, it is confirmed that three of the titles that will be shown at Gamescom will be as follows:

"Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn't enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight. We've decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for gamescom in August. Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and center at gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10."

Microsoft's press conference starts 17:30 BST / 18:30 CEST on Monday, and Gamereactor will be hosting a stream so you'll be able to follow the event as it happens.

"Those looking for a simple retread of 2007's Crackdown may come away satisfied but we found little here that grabbed our interest."
