The career mode in NBA 2K16 - the new iteration of the famous franchise dedicated to basketball from 2K - will have a very cinematic taste, according to the latest news. This year the mode has been written and directed by Hollywood director Spike Lee, as reported by Associated Press , and confirmed by a press release from 2K.

As the director confirms to AP, NBA 2K16's campaign centers on a fictional player named Frequency Vibrations, and tells a story of "the trials and tribulations of life on a big stage with the money, fame, temptations, family members, the press, fans, all that stuff. "

But the choice of Lee wasn't accidental: the director is a huge fan of the New York Knicks, and in 1998 he directed a movie dedicated to his favourite sport, called He Got Game.

Besides this announcement, 2K have also revealed the players who will be present on the cover of NBA 2K16: Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, James Harden of Houston Rockets and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Developed by Visual Concepts, NBA 2K16 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC starting from September 29.
