The Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has revealed that Borderlands 2 keeps on selling at a steady pace. Last time numbers were reported was last fall, with sales over 10 million copies.

Add a Christmas holiday and six month and that number is now "well over 12 million units", which of course very impressive and make Borderlands to one of the best selling franchises in the video game industry. Just two months ago, Gearbox announced that they have now officially begun the development of Borderlands 3, which probably won't be released for another 2-3 years.

But we won't be without Borderlands fun during that time thanks to Tales from the Borderlands from Telltale Games and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection which is to be released tomorrow. Gearbox also hinted recently that the very first Borderlands might get the HD treatment and be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.

Borderlands 2

Thanks, Gamespot.

"It's rare for drudgery to set in. And for a game of this size and style, what's even more surprising is that the word 'grind' never enters the lexicon."
