Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Colossal Order have announced that their city builder Cities Skylines is due out on March 10. The city builder that Paradox have pitted against EA's SimCity from day one (going as far as mentioning an "offline mode" as one of the key features in the announcement trailer).
Paradox executive Shams Jorjani took to Twitter to once again make use of that marketing angle - this time focusing on the $29.99 price point:
"That's 50% of what Sim city 5 cost at launch. We totally planned it this way. And it has twice the gameplay - at least. Enjoy."
"Colossal Order has done an amazing job in developing this game, and their talent and passion clearly shows in what they have created," said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive. "It is no exaggeration to say everyone internally at Paradox has been playing this game for months through every stage of development--it is quite addictive--and we are genuinely thrilled that Cities: Skylines will soon be in the hands of players everywhere."
Later this week in Stockholm Cities Skylines will be playable at the Paradox Convention and Gamereactor will be on sight to provide coverage.
