We can't be sure when, but it appears that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be making an appearance on PlayStation platforms, at some point at least.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer confirmed to Eurogamer that the exclusivity deal "has a duration", although the Microsoft boss refused to confirm how long that may be. All he would say is that "the deal has a duration. I didn't buy it. I don't own the franchise".

Spencer later added: "People ask me how much did we pay. There are certain things I'm just not going to talk about because it's a business deal between us and them. Obviously the deal does have a duration. I didn't buy the IP in perpetuity."

So, patience is in order PlayStation fans. Will they get this game at some yet-to-be-determined point in the future? It certainly seems so. However, it's also possible that the next game in the series is covered by this deal. We just don't know. And, by the looks of it, Spencer isn't going to put us out of our misery and reveal the terms of the contract any time soon.
