FIFA 15 appeared during both Microsoft's and EA's press conferences at this year's Gamescom. As per usual, there were plenty of buzzwords flying around as EA Sports' David Rutter talked about "match authenticity", saying that the game "feels more responsive than ever before." He also confidently asserted that "we've no doubt that this is best FIFA ever."

Given that they've had a lot of practice and they're now working with the new-gen consoles, you'd like to think so to!

Rutter also confirmed a few things we already knew about, such the fan-voted appearance of the Turkish Superlig, as well as the fact that the game will feature all 20 Premier League stadiums (which is massive if you support one of the smaller clubs), plus the new goal decision system.

Also mentioned was "Match Day Live", the all-new football hub for the game that brings in real-world stats and headlines to the FIFA interface. On top of that, Rutter reiterated that Ultimate Team Legends would be exclusive to Xbox, and that it'll feature some 50 Legends. FIFA Ultimate Team will also have friendly seasons, and loan signings are being introduced.

Finally, there was some love for the goalkeepers. Everton's Tim Howard starred prominently (no doubt thanks to his World Cup heroics). Goalkeepers will be rebuilt "from the turf up" - and they'll look and move like their real-world counterparts according to EA's man. Expect deflections, parries, and keepers diving the wrong way. Should be fun (unless it's your keeper that makes a howler).

FIFA 15 is heading to all the platforms, and we'll be getting our hands on the game in late September. EA also confirmed that a demo will be making an appearance ahead of the game's launch.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"FIFA 15 is a good game, make no mistake, it's just not a great game; it looks like we're going to have to wait at least another year for that."
