"We kind of left Lego Batman 2 with a bit of a cliffhanger," says Ring. "A bit of a spoiler for anyone who's not got there yet. Brainiac shows up at the post credits and we knew that we wanted to do something different, we wanted to go into space. This time around, Beyond Gotham, very early you build a Bat-rocket and go into space and that's really where our story takes us."

Lego games typically allows us to play around with a huge roster of characters and Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is no exception.

"In Lego Batman 2 we kind of introduced the DC universe," says Ring. "Now we're digging in. This is our love letter to the DC world. So we've got some brilliant characters in there. We've got people like Plastic Man, Bleez, one of my personal favourites Bat-Mite is going to be in the game."

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is due out this autumn on pretty much every major platform under the sun.

"Although the game doesn't shine when it comes to originality, the new Lego Batman is a high-quality title that will provide hours of fun."
