I'm currently in Tokyo with Emil Østergaard (the sleeping camera man) for Tokyo Game Show and everything that comes with it. We arrived in Tokyo this morning, and we also managed to take in the Namco Bandai pre-TGS event at their head quarters in Shinagawa. Among other things we got a chance to chat with Takashi Okazaki, creator of Afro Samurai, and we also had some hands-on time with Tekken 6: Bloodlines Rebellion and the new characters Lars and Alisa. I was otherwise most impressed by the well kept retro collection of old Namco arcade machines including Puck-Man, Submarine, Xevious, Ridge Racer 2, Tekken 3, and many other classics.

Tomorrow we will spend some time in Akihabara, and attend Sony's cocktail reception. And the actual show starts on Thursday when Square Enix' Yoichi Wada will hold the opening keynote as the president of organising CESA. He will be followed by John Schappert from Microsoft who is bound to have some secrets up his sleeve.

Suffering from jetlag and lack of proper food (plane food and crisps is all I have gotten in the last 24 hours) I'm heading out for some sushi as soon as I can return Emil to the land of the living...
